The Auto Plus Shopify Connector turns the catalog you already keep in Auto Plus into a complete Shopify parts store — products, photos, prices, categories, brand pages and a Year / Make / Model search built from your ACES fitment. Then it keeps the store current every night, by itself.
A parts store without fitment is a store where nobody can find anything.
Shopify handles the parts of retail you do not want to build: the cart, checkout, card payments, shipping labels and tax. What it does not have is your catalog — and an auto parts catalog is not a list of products. It is products and the vehicles they fit.
Shopify was not built to hold that. Its product fields, filters and tags run out long before a real ACES catalog does, which is why most parts stores either skip fitment or rent it from a separate app and re-key their data into it.
Auto Plus already holds the catalog and the fitment, validated against the standards. The connector publishes both, from the same source, and keeps them in step.

Found by the assistants your customers ask.
Shoppers now ask ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini or Claude to find a part for them, and those assistants can search Shopify stores directly. An assistant reads a product's title, description, tags and price — and nothing else.
So the connector writes the vehicles a part fits into the description and tags each product with the makes and models it fits. When someone asks "what cold-air intake fits a 2019 Silverado?", an Auto Plus store can answer.

The Auto Plus theme gives every store the hard parts on day one: the vehicle picker, the category menu, brand pages, Specials rows, tabbed product pages and the fitment table — all wired to your Auto Plus data. What it does not give you is someone else's brand.
Once it is published, the look is yours. Change the colors and fonts, add your logo, reword the banner, add, remove and reorder sections — all in Shopify's own theme editor, no code required. Because every store is personalized by its owner, no two Auto Plus Shopify stores look alike.
And the nightly update never touches your design. It keeps your products, prices and fitment current; your look stays exactly as you left it.

Install the Auto Plus API
On the machine that runs your Auto Plus database. The API Manager is ready in about ten minutes.
Connect your store
Create the app in your own Shopify account and connect it under Sales Channels > Shopify. Your credentials stay on your server.
Build the store
Press Update Shopify now. Products, categories, brand pages, menus and the fitment search are built from Auto Plus.
Let it run
Every night only what you changed is rewritten. Tick Web Upload and the part is there in the morning.
Your store stays yours.
- Never touches stock, orders, customers or payments. Those live in Shopify.
- Never writes back. Nothing typed into Shopify comes back into Auto Plus.

Do I need a web designer to build the store?
No. The connector builds the products, categories, brand pages, menus and the Year / Make / Model search, and ships a ready theme you upload once. You can customize the look in Shopify any time after that.
Can I change how my store looks?
Yes. The Auto Plus theme is a foundation, not a finished design. Once it is published you can change colors, fonts, logo, the banner and the page sections in Shopify's theme editor, so no two Auto Plus stores look alike. The nightly update never changes your design, and Rivers Edge is planning a library of Auto Plus themes to choose from.
Where does the Year / Make / Model fitment come from?
From your ACES applications in Auto Plus. Shopify cannot hold a real fitment catalog in its own product fields, so the connector builds a fitment index from your applications and the store's vehicle picker reads it. Qualifiers and notes are carried word for word.
Does it manage inventory or orders?
No. Auto Plus is not inventory control or order entry. Stock levels, orders, customers and payments stay in Shopify; the connector never reads or writes them.
What happens when I change a price or add a photo in Auto Plus?
The nightly update compares Auto Plus with the store and rewrites only what changed. Change a price, add a photo, fix a description or map a new vehicle, and the store follows the next morning.
What if I already have a Shopify store?
Products, collections and menus you made by hand are never touched. The connector only manages the products and collections it created, and a collection already using a name it wants is left alone.
Is my data sent to Rivers Edge?
No. The connector runs on your server and pushes directly to your Shopify store. Your catalog and your Shopify credentials never pass through Rivers Edge.
